Section 512(f) of Title 17 USC explains the penalties for misrepresenting information in a copyright infringement notification.

Counter Notification – Restoration of Material

If your material has been removed due to a copyright claim, you can submit a counter notification to request its restoration. Your notification must include:

  3. A statement swearing under penalty of perjury that the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, and consent to jurisdiction for legal purposes.
